SlightEdge is a very big advocate for gratitude. No matter what time of the year, we are promoting to our employees to express gratitude in their everyday life. Our CEO, Rich, has made this part of the company culture for years and in turn, it has helped our employees improve their outlook on everyday situations and helped them improve their life. The art of expressing gratitude is not something that comes naturally. Nowadays, most people are programmed to only see the negative or give feedback on a problem instead of giving attention to the positive in that situation. SlightEdge promotes starting your day with gratitude because it helps get the day kicked off on the right foot. Rich has a list of ways that we can integrate gratitude into our morning routine to help us find this success daily.

Tips to create and express gratitude every day

1. Write down a couple of things that you are grateful for or voice them every morning. Don’t know where to start? You can start every morning saying you’re grateful for the roof over your head, for waking up and for having a bed to sleep in. You can always find at least one thing.
2. Make a list of everything you have learned, achieved or experienced since you started your current. Life gets hectic. It’s very easy to be frustrated at your current situation however if you take a minute just to think about how you’ve grown and what you’ve been able to learn in your job, it helps puts things in perspective for you.
3. Send 1 to 2 gratitude text messages every morning to people you appreciate and be specific on why you are grateful for them or something they did. Tell people you value them. This small act will improve your relationship with them and also encourage this person to continue those great habits.
4. Avoid negative media such as news, movies, and videos. It is everywhere and we need to start shifting our focus to positive things.
5. LOOK FOR THE GOOD — This is Rich’s mantra. In every negative situation, you can find a positive you just have to look for it.
6. Volunteer. No matter who you are, you have so much to give. Helping others brings you closer to your community but also gives you the perspective to be grateful for what you have in your life.

This list is pretty simple, right? Imagine waking up and in the first thirty minutes of your morning doing list 1–4. Then throughout the day tell yourself to ‘look for the good’. Naturally, you will start attracting positivity into your life which will help improve your work performance. Associates will enjoy being around you more which will lead to more collaborations. Success does not come easy but it will come a little easier if you start your day with gratitude. Follow us on Instagram to get to know the team of SligthtEdge that practices this approach daily.
