The CEO of SlightEdge (Philadelphia, PA) has really taken the time over the last few months to reflect on what success means in business and in life. This year has definitely presented its challenges for people and more so, has gotten people to think a lot about their life, their goals, and what’s important to them. What does success mean to you? Everyone has a different answer but generally its something that is not just going to happen naturally. Success is something that you need to work on daily and more than likely will hit a few bumps on the road. While reflecting on this the CEO, Rich, came up with the 3 G’s of a Success Story.

Guts:

You have to have the courage to push yourself out of your comfort zone and go for it. If it was easy everyone would do it and everyone would have their dream life. A lot of people “have a dream” but they do not act on it for one reason or another. Sometimes they think they don’t deserve it or are not capable of achieving it. But you will surprise yourself with what you can accomplish if you just go for it.

Grit:

You need to have passion and perseverance on the journey towards your goals. Your goals are not just going to happen overnight. Success doesn’t come easy. There are going to be obstacles and things are not going to go as planned. But you need to have grit and you need to fight through that. If you truly are passionate about the goals you have set, you will persevere.

Glory:

It is important to celebrate every win, big or small, on your journey. The bigger the goal, the longer it will take you to accomplish it. But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t things to celebrate along the way. Whenever you hit a milestone you set for yourself, stop, and celebrate it. You have to make sure you enjoy the process leading up to your end goal.

They say that it takes 10 years to become an overnight success. So if you haven’t already, start setting your goals now. But along the way, have a “Guts, Grit & Glory” mindset. You can do it. We encourage every SlightEdge employee to attack their life and goals with this mentality and hopefully, you will too.
